Teething Toys
The boys love these triangle teething toys I made them. They have bright colored dots on one side and black dots with a white background on the other side. Just what babies like for visual stimulation. It also has a rattle sewn inside for audio stimulation. Jess doesn't shake it very much, he mostly just chews on the corners. Tae on the other hand goes shaking crazy with the thing. Both of their faces light up and get very excited when they see the toy. It sure is fun to make things they enjoy.
I still can't get Jess to smile for the camera.
Boy Jumper
Hat for Tae
OK...I love this hat. Adding more interfacing definitely made the brim hold it's shape better. I will also add some interfacing to the top and see if that also improves the look. These hats are very fun to make and the boys like them too. Tae looks like he's ready for a safari trip.
Hat for Jess
This is my second attempt at a sun hat. I think this one came out much better. Though I still need to work out a few issues. For example, I don't like how much it loses it's shape. I will have to add more interfacing in the next one to help stiffen it up some.
Sun Hat
OK, no judging. This was my first attempt at making a sun hat for the babies. Not only was it poorly constructed but as you can see, way too small. Lucky for Tae it doesn't take away from his good looks.
Boy Dress Shirt
I wanted to share my first attempt in constructing a shirt for Jess. The pattern was from Butterick B5510. I was very intimidated to start because garment making seems so complicated to me. I think overall it turned out OK even though it's a bit big. I wasn't impressed with how it wanted the collar put together. I've seen other patterns with better collar designs. I think next time I will try to meld the two patterns together to get the desired look I'm after.
Now if I can only get Jess to smile while he's modeling for me then I will be set.

Tag Teething Blanket
Jess just turned 4 months and has already sprouted his first tooth. So as you can imagine he's chewing on anything he can get his hands on. I saw some of these teething tag blankets on Etsy when I was looking at baby toys. They didn't look to hard to make so I decided to give it a try. Turns out it was as easy as I thought it would be. Made this one and another one just a little different for my nephew Tae this morning. Both babies love chewing on them.

Appliques
I was looking at a jungle themed baby quilt my mom bought the other day with some really cute animal appliques. I had never tried appliqueing before but figured I could learn how to do it. So, after a couple failed attempts I figured it out. Here are some of my results that I will be adding to my own baby quilt. I have yet to add the eyes to the giraffe but no worry I will get them on.
Both squares are 10x12. The giraffe's brown patches are corduroy and inside the ears are white minky. The elephant is made out of a minky rose fabric. I love the little swirls, it gives it a little more dimension. They were super fun to make and I can't wait to come up with more designs.
